Apple allows you to sign up for a new Apple ID using any of your existing email addresses from services like Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc. For example, email addresses like jenny.ny@gmail.com or markismyname@outlook.com can be used to sign up for an Apple ID. However, when you create a new iCloud account, you must choose a fresh and unique @icloud.com email address.

When you use your Apple ID to sign in to the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store for the first time, you're asked to enter a payment method so that you can purchase items from the store. Follow these steps if you don't want to associate a payment method with your account.

If you already created your Apple ID, you need to add a payment method when you first use that Apple ID to sign in to the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store. But you can optionally remove the payment method after you sign in to the store. You won't be asked for a payment method again until you make your first purchase.

Apple recommends using only one Apple ID for all Apple features and services that use Apple ID. If you haven't created your Apple ID, follow these steps to create an Apple ID and store account at the same time, without adding a payment method.

Although developers release most of their apps worldwide, some American apps are only available to download from the US App Store. To get these apps, you need to create a US Apple ID account to use with that App Store instead of your local one.

All you need to create a US Apple ID is a new email address and an American billing address. We'll show you how to get each of these for free so you can download American apps in Canada, the UK, and any other country.

Your first instinct might be to change the location settings on your existing Apple ID to work with the US App Store. This option appears simple at first, because you only need to manage a single Apple ID account instead of creating a second one.

But there are big problems that come with changing your App Store location. These issues include needing a valid American credit card to change your store location and that you might lose access to all your existing purchases afterward.

In contrast, you can create an entirely new American Apple ID account without adding any payment method at all. Plus, you can easily switch between accounts to keep access to all your existing purchases.

To change the account you're using with the App Store on your iOS device, go to Settings > [Your Name] > iTunes & App Store. Tap your current Apple ID account to sign out, then sign in again with the new account. This keeps you signed in to the original account for iCloud and other Apple services.

In iOS 14 and later, you need to sign out of every Apple service to change your Apple ID account in the App Store. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Sign Out to do so. Then sign in from the same page using your US Apple ID.

But it also means you can download American apps, then sign back into your original Apple ID account to continue using those apps. This is the method we suggest you use, so that only a small selection of apps are linked to your American Apple ID account.

After following the instructions above, you should have a US App Store account with no payment method connected to it. This is fine for downloading free apps from the US App Store. But you can't use it to buy anything unless you have an American credit card or PayPal account you can add to your Apple ID.

Unfortunately, you can't use your US App Store account to buy these, since there is no payment method linked to it. And you can't use your original App Store account, because that will link the gift cards to the wrong region.

Now you know how to use a US App Store account from anywhere in the world. However, if you wanted to know how to get American apps because you wanted to stream Hulu in Canada, for example, you also need a VPN that makes it look like you're trying to stream video from within the US.

Individual accounts cost approximately $19 USD, and company accounts cost approximately $99 USD (the exact amounts may vary depending on your country or region). This is a one-time registration fee and no renewal is required.

You'll need to sign in with a Microsoft account that you want to associate with your developer account. If you don't already have a Microsoft account, you can get one when you start the signup process. You'll also need to pay for the account using a Visa/Mastercard, PayPal (in supported locations), or a promo code. Note that prepaid credit cards are not accepted.

Individual accounts are for a single developer working on their own. Company accounts are for organizations and businesses. Company accounts give you access to submit apps with some additional functionality. We also require greater verification for company accounts after you register, to confirm that you're authorized to set up the account for your company. This verification can take from a few days to a couple of weeks, and often includes a phone call to your company. Both types of accounts allow you to submit apps and services. For more info, see Account types, locations, and fees.

You can register for your developer account and submit apps to the Microsoft Store if you live or operate a business in a supported country or region. The Azure program is available to developers who live or operate a business in a supported country or region.

With a developer account, you can submit apps and games to Microsoft marketplaces, including the Microsoft Store. Note that you'll need to confirm your payout and tax info before you can charge money for products you publish.

Yes. You'll need to use a Microsoft account to set up the account. The person identified by this Microsoft account will be the account owner and will have full control over the account. After the account has been created, you can associate your Partner Center account with your organization's Azure Active Directory, and then add users to the account with the appropriate roles and permissions.

You may see this message if your Microsoft account uses an email address with a school or company domain. If you see a prompt indicating that your email is used with more than one account, choose Personal account to continue. If you are still unable to complete the account process, you may need to create a new Microsoft account using an email address that is not associated with your organization and use the new Microsoft account to register as a developer.

First, check that you're trying to sign in with the Microsoft account that is associated with your developer account. If you are, you might see a prompt indicating that your email is used with more than one account; in that case, choose Personal account to continue. If you don't see the prompt, and you're sure you are using the right Microsoft account, contact support.

Note. If your organization uses Azure Active Directory to allow multiple users to access a developer account, make sure that you're trying to sign in with the email address that your organization used to grant you access to the account, rather than signing in with a Microsoft account. If you're still having problems, contact your organization's Azure AD administrator for assistance.

Apple IDs are the company's way of using a single profile so you can access your account across all of Apple's devices. They're also necessary if you want to use the App Store on any Apple device, regardless of whether you're buying something or downloading a free app. So if you are simply looking to download a communication app on your iPhone, like Microsoft Teams or Gmail, or want to stream music or podcasts from your iPhone, you need an Apple ID. 2ff7e9595c
